If you are a coffee addict like myself, keep those coffee grounds that you can DIY with. If you are not, you can always ask your neighbor or your friend to keep those for you!

Here, I have the coffee grounds from the nespresso capsules, empty the grounds into a container which you can keep in the fridge.

I will come up with a DIY in a couple of days later, stay tune!

I recently read of a tip online about expanding shoes. I love shopping online! So, I got myself 2 pairs of shoes (multi-coloured glitter & black glitter) and wore the multi-coloured glitter pair out it caused me blisters. That’s one of the cons of shopping online for shoes as you can’t try them on! So I decided to try out this tip for the black one and see if it works!

Comparison of the expanded and non-expanded shoe. Can you tell me which one? πŸ™‚

All you have to do is, wear a pair of thick socks, if you don’t have thick ones, you can wear 2 or 3 layers depending on the thickness and how much you need to expand your shoes. Wear your shoes and using a hair dryer, blow the corners that need expansion. Let it cool down for a while and voila, enjoy your shoes and say byebye to blisters!

Try this and let me know if it works for you! πŸ™‚

Some time last year, I read about this oil which had very good reviews on scar and stretch marks reduction. Then I tumbled upon it at the pharmacy in US last year, I haven’t been using it religiously as I should have and forgot about its existence. So recently, I saw on someone’s vblog – she used it for 3 weeks and the scars have minimized so much! So here’s a picture of my legs, accumulated with all my drunken falls and being the chef’s recommendation to the mozzies. :p

I shall remember to apply this every night for 4 weeks and snap a shot again πŸ™‚

Once again, too busy with work life and keeping up with social life, I neglected my blog again. Been a long hiatus since my last post..

Well, 2013 have been fab to me so far, time flies and started a new job, new role in the 3rd month of the year. And having a new job, I found myself an excuse to ‘upgrade’, that is to purchase my first ever laptop to call my own – the Apple MacBook Air. At the same time, it was time to upgrade my phone and I’ve gotten the iPhone 5 for free thanks to the voucher from Singtel πŸ™‚

new apple gadgets

Being a MacBook noob, I seek help from my housemates for a crash course. Before I know it, MacBook is such a breeze to use, so user-friendly! Don’t think I’m switching back to Windows again.. ever. Hehe! I kinda regretted getting the 11″ though, the long hours of me staring at the computer is too straining on my eyes. Perhaps, I would sell this and get the 13″. Maybe, maybe..

So, here I am, loving my new lappy and new job πŸ™‚

An impromptu trip to the supermarket after work got me thinking what to make and pack for lunch to work the following day.

I went through the aisles in the supermarket and randomly bought things I love.

20120523-023252.jpg
I don’t usually follow any recipes, I just threw in whatever I saw at the supermarket and still fresh given that I went at 11pm! Thus, my entry’s title of “Give me a name!”. My sister and colleagues enjoyed this salad as much as I did! πŸ™‚

Makes 2:
2 handfuls of spiral pasta
4 long sticks of celery
1 can of corn
4 handfuls of cherry tomato
1 green apple
2 hard boiled eggs
1/2 cup of sesame dressing (found at the japanese section)

And just simply mix everything together!

Give it a try and let me know how you like it! πŸ™‚

One of the things I like to do when I’m home is to explore new styles, colours and designs for my nails. My sister suggested jelly sandwich nails and got us both to try out this new technique of using a sheer and glitter nail polish.

20120520-014107.jpg
My choice of colours:
OPI – Passion
Milani – Jewel FX

1. Apply your base coat.
2. Apply 2-3 coats of sheer nail polish of your choice.
3. Apply 1-2 coats of glitter nail polish.
4. Finish up with another coat of sheer nail polish and finally top coat.

My sister’s version of jelly sandwich nails.

For a start, I’m someone who doesn’t stick to beauty regime or even clean my face (yes, I know – it’s gross!) with makeup remover and facial wash. To add on, the late nights that I frequently have is not helping at all. And I absolutely know that once I hit 3-0 (that’s not too long), I will have to do a lot of salvation for my skin. Hah! Tired, dull and lacklustre complexion recently and that got me worried..

Anyhow, I came to know about BellaBox through a colleague, subscribed and received my first box in April!

The goodies:
Enavose Black Tea Quench Mask (sample size of 15ml) – which I’m going to review below.
Kinohimitsu BB drink – Tried 1 bottle, can’t tell the difference on my skin. I guess I have to take this religiously, tastes like fruit juice though.
Lemongrass House Rose Absolute Shower Gel – Will try it someday.
Moa Green Balm – 100% organic herbs grown in England, said to be a multi-purpose balm for healing, nourishment and relief.
Laura Mercier – Sample size of tinted moisturizer & foundation primer which I’ve not found the perfect occasion to use them!

A close-up pic of the Enavose Black Tea Quench Mask:

Extracted from the Enavose website:

The ultimate hydration haven for thirsty and dehydrated skins, our quenching mask uses Sweet Black Tea to release a profusion of moisture and vitality that deeply replenishes skin’s moisture. It harnesses the power of skin to retain higher levels of water, leaving it feeling velvety soft, incredibly supple and invigorated. Feel the surge of immense moisture and be better equipped to defend against damaging environmental forces.

Active Ingredients
Sweet Black Tea, Arnica Montana Flower, Gentian Root, Yarrow, Lecithin.

It doesn’t have a scent of anything in particular, the product is thick and feels like a water-based gel. Application was a breeze, and it felt totally refreshing after applying it to my face which I simply adore in our humid weather. I followed the instructions of leaving it on for 20 minutes before rinsing off with warm water. My skin feels fresh, supple and velvety soft without stickiness nor feeling like there’s a layer of film on my face after rinse off. It definitely boost up radiance and glow to my skin – application of concealer the next day was so much easier as well!

The packaging states to use this mask once a week or whenever the skin requires a moisture boost.

Where to buy:
Suntec or Tangs Vivocity
$59.50 for a 30ml jar

Next, I would try the Enavose Cellogist Youth Guard Cream in May’s BellaBox. πŸ™‚

I’m so not a k-pop fan to begin with, but when I was tasked to do this k-pop singer’s showcase. I knew I would fall in love (just a teeny weeny bit) πŸ™‚

The star of this entry – Jay Park, a Korean-American recording artiste. All I knew about him before the showcase was – a former member from the band 2PM. The status remained the same after the showcase but I’ve to say, he has a pretty damn good voice!

20120501-020835.jpg
I heard, he might come back again for another show.. Let’s see.

Till then, I want to meet the next Jay… Jay Sean, that is.
